Position Overview:

We are currently seeking a talented and motivated Senior Associate Scientist/Scientist I with strong analytical expertise in analytical characterization of lipid nanoparticles (LNPs) to join the analytical development team in Prime’s growing Technical Development and Operations group. The candidate will play a key role in the development and application of a variety of analytical assays for the characterization of Prime editing drug products across Prime’s portfolio. This is a hands-on role that provides an exciting opportunity to gain direct experience in analytical method development and qualification. The ideal candidate will excel as a member of a cross-functional team that works closely with process development, formulation, pharmacology, and quality teams to advance the Prime Editing therapeutic product pipeline.

 Key Responsibilities:

  • Support all aspects of analytical development for drug products, including routine sample analysis, release and characterization testing, new analytical method development, method qualification, comparability, and stability testing.
  • Perform method development, optimization, qualification, and validation, and assist in method transfer to internal teams as well as external CTLs (contract testing labs) and CDMOs (contract development and manufacturing organizations).
  • Identify, evaluate, develop, validate, and implement method improvements and new analytical technologies to augment Prime’s analytical capabilities.
  • Collaborate with research, process develop, and formulation groups and effectively communicate results to multi-disciplinary teams in oral and written formats.
  • Author and review protocols, SOPs, and technical documents.
  • Maintain electronic lab notebook following data integrity principles and practices.
  • Adhere to all laboratory safety requirements and procedures.

Qualifications:

  • MS/PhD in Analytical Chemistry, Biochemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or related discipline.
  • At least 2-4 years’ experience in the biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry for MS candidates, and 0-1 years’ experience for PhD candidates.
  • Experience in LNP characterization is critical, such as CGE, HPLC, LC-MS, DLS and other technologies.
  • Experience and expertise with purity/impurity, identity, and structural and functional characteristic method development.
  • In-depth understanding of therapeutic components and delivery modalities
  • Self-motivated, highly independent, and willingness to learn new skills
  • Detail-oriented and excellent at troubleshooting complex technical challenges
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience with method qualification and validation in an industrial setting is a plus.
  • Previous experience in analysis of AAVs and nucleic acids (gRNA/mRNA) is a plus
