Position Overview

We are currently seeking a motivated, independent, and experienced flow cytometry core manager with expertise developing, validating, and supporting flow cytometry assays for pre-GLP research. The candidate will join and contribute to a multidisciplinary program team focused on developing novel engineered prime edited ex vivo cell and in vivo therapies. The candidate will apply their expertise to work with other scientists and project teams to develop and run flow cytometry analysis of cellular immunophenotypes and fluorescence activated cell sorting.

Primary responsibilities:

  • Design, qualify, validate, and run immunophenotyping by flow cytometry analysis and cell sorting assays (multi-parameter flow cytometry including cell separation/sorting)
  • Provide education, training, and guidance to scientists in use of flow cytometry equipment and analysis of flow cytometry datasets
  • Write and validate standard operating procedures for use of all flow cytometry instrumentation
  • Collaborate with scientists across to company to support all flow cytometry assays
  • Generate, analyze, and interpret flow cytometry and other complex data sets
  • Coordinate and work with various other groups in a matrixed environment, as well as external CROs
  • Coordinate maintenance and use of flow cytometry core equipment
  • Manage inventory for materials, reagents, and consumables for flow cytometry core facility
  • Maintain detailed documentation of experiments in ELN system
  • Present data and findings to internal and external scientific groups
  • Maintain cell line repository inventory


  • BS + 5 years, MS +3 years, or PhD 1+ years of relevant research experience with flow cytometry focus
  • Experience managing inventory, equipment, and technical operations within a team
  • Experience with primary human cell culture and cell-based in vitro study design
  • Experience running flow cytometry analysis and sorting on cells from preclinical animal models, organs, and tissues
  • Experience in assay development, qualification, and validation, and implementation for pre-GLP research
  • Proficiency in designing multi-parametric flow cytometry studies focused on comprehensive and rigorous characterization of cell phenotype and function
  • Proficiency in use of data acquisition and analysis software including DIVA, Flowjo, Graphpad Prism and MS Excel
  • Team player with strong oral, written, and verbal communication skills and flexibility to adapt to a dynamic environment
  • Ability to work effectively on cross-functional teams with a willingness to roll-up-sleeves to get things done
  • Experience working in biotech industry preferred
